Heartsong Life Groups
Hi, everyone,
You've heard the phrase "change is good." Well not always...but change for the better is always good. It is sometimes disturbing and painful, but it doesn't have to be.
Like our new Heartsong groups. A lot of good things happened in the past in our group structure, but God wants to do so much more. What was the problem? Our vision was limited. We were happy to have 10-20% of our church involved.
We have been challenged by Journey church (for one) who has an expectation in their church to have 110% participation. Why shoot so high? Groups are that beneficial, and that important to a Christian's spiritual development. If you set a goal, you are more likely to reach it.
Journey Church (who is a leading church in groups and growth strategy) went from 6 groups to 70 groups in just a few years. How? They fully committed themselves to the vision. Our goal, however is not numbers first, but changed lives first. That's what's so great about groups. Over the next few weeks we will be hearing some short testimonies of how groups have impacted the lives of those who have participated.
We will begin sign-up this Sunday and will continue the next few weeks until our fall semester begins the week of September 20. They will run until the first week in December and end until... until the next groups fire up in February and go until the first week in May. This fall we will all be using the same resource "Get Out Of That Pit" by Beth Moore.
(Note to the men: It is genderless--great for men and women equally)
There will be four groups to choose from:
Mark and Jana Braley (in Lake Country) Tuesdays 6-7:30PM.
Alan and Debbie Jones (In Saginaw) Wednesdays 7-8:30PM.
Paula Thompson (lives between Lakeside and Azle, but may meet in a more central location)
Friday mornings 9-10:30AM.
Troy and Sally Peterson (in Saginaw) Friday 7-8:30PM
Notice the time period of each one is an hour and a half total. Groups will start and end on time and will be structured around a social time (light snacks), getting to know one another better, study time, and closing with your prayer requests. Our group leaders have been trained and are ready to go. No matter which group you sign up for...they will all have the same strucure, study, opportunities for growth, and meaningful fellowship.
